Ed Bray, B. Sc., A. Ed.

Ed retired as Principal of Mackay State High School in 2005. He has been a Principal for 27 years in three Queensland Government Secondary Schools - Oakey, Kalkadoon (Mt Isa) and Mackay. Over the last nine years he has served as Vice President and President of the Queensland Secondary Principals Association, QSPA; Vice President and Deputy President of the Australian Secondary Principals Association, ASPA and as an executive member of the Australian Principals Association Professional Development Council, APAPDC.

He has extensive experience working with, and providing advice, on the effective management of school canteens and dealing with financial issues, including increasing profitability. Ed works part time for ASCA and is the representitive for ASCA in Queensland. He can provide you with more information on the benefits of joining ASCA. Consultants


Ken Goodwin, B. A., DIP. ED., MACE, MACEL

Ken was an administrator for 34 years in Queensland secondary schools. He was Principal for 28 years in four Queensland schools – Biloela, Dalby, Inala and Sunnybank.

He served as Vice President, President (for 2 years) and Past President on the Executive of the Queensland secondary Principals’ Association (QSPA) and for 5 years in the Executive Management team of the Australian secondary Principals’ Association (ASPA).

He was an Acting District Inspector of schools for two years. He was involved in school sport administration for many years including 10 years as a member and the last five years as Chairperson of a Metropolitan School Sport Board.

In recent years he has worked as a consultant in a range of educational activities including whole school and faculty reviews; curriculum development; professional development programs including facilitation of Leadership Learning Circles for school personnel.

His extensive educational experiences, his knowledge of schooling practices and management skills equip him for his role as a part-time consultant for ASCA in south-east Queensland. He can be contacted on (07) 3397 2912 or 0400 045 637.
